I learned about Sasha Rose Hamrogue one day on facebook when I saw the article, I lost both parents to lung cancer – the grief almost overwhelmed me” pop up on my newsfeed. Not only had she lost both of her parents, she lost them to cancer, and I immediately identified with her experience.

In her article, Sasha talks about the grief she experienced after losing her mom and dad to lung cancer and what it was like to lose their unconditional love.

“The loneliness is almost unmanageable.”

In our conversation, Sasha and I talk about her article (which has gotten almost 10,000 shares!), what it was like to inform her mom AND dad of their cancer diagnosis, the importance of self care during difficult times, life in Dublin, the media industry, and our common grounds.
